A few days ago, supermodel and actress, Naomi Campbell welcomed her second child into the world at the tender age of 53 years old. Three years ago at the age of 50, Campbell had a daughter. Not much is known about the children. Campbell has not released any names of the children, if the fathers of the children are involved in their lives, and the identities of the children have yet to be released.
I must admit that I agree with Campbell that she is keeping most of the information concerning her children private. I am unaware of any part of Campbell’s TTC journey, but I can only speculate that there may have been many people who have discouraged her from having children.
On the other hand, Naomi Campbell does not owe anyone an explanation as to her decisions on being childfree or childless. After all, Campbell has been within the public spotlight for decades and having many of her life choices scrutinized by news outlets and tabloids.
A Google search of Campbell will be able to pull up all kinds of personal information concerning her career highlights and her personal failures. I agree with Campbell that I would keep as much of my personal information private as I most possibly can.
I applaud Campbell for pursuing her motherhood dreams and only bringing forth information when she feels as if it is the right time. I also applaud Campbell for creating the family that she wants in spite of being 53 years old. I support her completely and fully with having children.
Of course, my dream scenario is to have a husband and experience pregnancy, but I may have to harvest my eggs, find a gestational carrier, and create a family via lawyers and fertility doctors. It is not textbook, but Campbell is experiencing a special kind of joy that many women and couples are spending their last dime to achieve.
So, yes, please give me a baby boy and a baby girl so that I can experience the joys of motherhood. I am doing my best to be as healthy as possible so that I can have healthy babies and enjoy them. I want to have a know the joy and hope that Naomi Campbell has and is enjoying today.
